Thanksgiving

We had a very nice relaxed Thanksgiving. We went to my parents house here in Utah. We arrived at around 11:30am and we didn't leave til 11pm. We enjoyed just being together all day. We realized it was the first holiday we were all together in 4 yrs. So that made the day even better!

My brother Steven cooked the best turkey I think I have ever eaten in my life!!! He soaked it in a brine over night (not sure what went in that)
To cook it he seared it to lock in the juices then roasted it in a roaster. When it was done he popped it in the oven to get the skin crispy again. It was fantastic. The rest of the dishes were just as good.

We talked for awhile then cleaned up. We played games and ate too many desserts. We looked at the ads for the next morning and decided where we were going and what we would be getting. We had a really nice day.

The next morning I had planned to go shopping at 4 am but since we didn't get home til just before midnight I decided not to. I went out around 8 and got a few things I had intended on getting and missed some as well.... Oh well what do you do? I met up with Mom and Janelle at Khols. We had a good time. I got some nice Christmas dishes and boots for Brynn.

The weekend came and Joe's sister Jen and her girlfriend Michelle came to visit from California. We all went to dinner for his dad's b-day and to see Jen. Sunday we had a turkey dinner at Joe's parent's. On Monday we met Jen and Michelle, Joe's cousin Darren and his wife Stacey and Joe's mom up in Park City. We got there just after noon. At around 3ish Joe took Brynn and his mom home. Darren and Stacey went home as well. I stayed with Ry Ry. We left Park City at 7pm!!! We had a blast shopping though. Then we went to the Gateway Mall. Met up with Joe's other sister Jackie and her daughter Samantha and Darren& Stacey again. We did some more shopping and then went to dinner. After that we went to go see the lights at Temple Square. We got there just as they turned them off.... It was sad....

Ry was the best through the whole thing even if he did puke at the Java Cow.... (he drank his hot choc too fast)

Fall Fun

My visiting teachers Annie and Lisa came over today. Annie and her boys stayed after to play for a bit. Ryan and Nicholas are good friends in nursery.

We have a BIG pile of leaves in our yard that the kids rake up and then play in just to rake them back up. Nick, his little brother Nathan and Ry played and played.

Big trouble for Ry Ry

Sundays I go to choir rehearsal. I usually get home pretty late. This sunday was no different. I expected to come home to a quiet house. Relax, get a snack and go to bed.

Yah right.....

Joe answered the door (I got a ride) and looked very frustrated. When I asked about it he said "come see for yourself." He proceeded to go up the stairs. I removed my heels and followed. When we arrived in Brynn and Ryan's room Joe advised me not to come in with bear feet. Thats when I saw glass EVERYWHERE.

Ryan had been purposefully throwing things at his light to see IF it would break. Dash finally broke the light......

His punishment? Well I have to go get a new light fixture.... I told Ryan that his punishment will be when I go to IKEA to get a new light he will not be coming with me. You would have thought I told him his dog was dead! He is not happy about his punishment. I say GOOD!

The show begins the day after Thanksgiving but Taylor does NOT start her run until the 17th of Dec.
She will run Every Monday Friday and Saturday night til the end on the 29th.

This is Eric the director, writer and owner. He was trying to get the kids to be louder and laugh more and not get distracted by other things that could be going on. He is great with them and loves what he does.

The reason we have children.....

It is officially fall in Utah. So we sent our kids out to rake the leaves and they recruited the neighbor kids to come and help. The WHOLE yard was leaves. They had fun though.

I put up the lights early this year so I wouldn't end up doing it in the snow. I ended up a whole strand short! UGH!

We are excited for Thanksgiving to come. It was going to be at our house but plans have changed agian so now we have to decide what we are doing and I have less then a week!!!

Nov is a fun month for us cuz 3 of the kids grandparents have a b-day in Nov. My dad Roger, my mom Cathy and Joe's dad Jack all in one week! The kids love making things for them.

I have been Tagged

The Rules
A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning. B. Each player lists 6 habits/facts about themselves. C. At the end of the post the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged, and asks them to read your blog.

Well I'm not as popular as my friend Holly. I only have 3 other people I know who blog and one is in Africa right now. So..... I will post it to my MySpace as well.

1. I am not a shy person so this whole "6 habits/facts" is difficult for me to think of some no one not already know very well....

2. I was just given a solo in my choir for our Christmas concerts this year.

3. I'm having a hysterectomy on Jan 2nd

4. I LOVE to eat out at good restaurants. I enjoy cooking but I enjoy someone else doing it more.

5. I got addicted to the STUPID Harry Potter PS2 game again. I quit playing it 2 yrs ago cuz I just got so frustrated with the way they wrote it. Then Joe pulled it out again a couple days ago and now NOTHING is getting done. Its been 3 days since I even LOOKED at my blog!

6. I have found my new fav musician. His name is Paul Potts. He was an absolute nobody in Britain and then went on the talent show In Britain(eq to Americas Got Talent)

I am tagging Holly J, Brad and Janelle Day, Britt, Bek and Leanna

Megan Amanda Byrd

Megan made her debut into the world and Byrd family today at 12:21pm.

Can you tell I am a proud auntie?!

Megan was 7lbs 10 oz (right Em?) and 19 1/2 in long. She is adorable!!!

I lucked out and was there shortly after she was born and I made it back in time (ran some errands) for her bath!

She has a sweet baby cry. The kind you like to hear. She is just so pretty and sweet!

Emily is doing well. The birth was perfect. I am so proud of her.

I went back home and got Joe and the kids so they could see her.

The kids were so excited to hold her. Katya hovered around her while Kyle changed her diaper. Katya was talking to her the whole time.

Its so fun to have new babies in the family. I am just so glad its not me adding them!

She found her 2 middle fingers and was sucking away. It was so cute!

Shopping

K so I really wasn't going to share but I am SOOOOOOOOOO loving my new purse! I want everyone to know about it!

There is a new company starting out here in Utah called Miche. She is ingenious! Here is the site...
www.michebag.com I got the Marilyn and the Pink Kimberly. LOVE them!!! Best of all is you can go with out a shell and just have a black bag!

Why did I NOT think of this myself?!?!

They are so cool! She has one store here at Fashion Place mall and one she just opened in Vegas. Currently you can not buy on line (at least I haven't found the link to actually order....) So if you are dying like I was to have one let me know and I'll pick one up for you and have them ship it.

THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY!!!!

Today is the greatest day in history. The Cheesecake Factory has opened in Utah!!!!!

The grand opening was today at 5pm. Guess who was there?!?!

ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is at Fashion Place Mall in Murray. I got there just before 4:30pm. I waited an hour JUST to get on the waiting list! Then waited another hour for a table. I went window shopping while I waited for everyone else to show up. We went with our friends Lisa and Zane. Joelle and Jim were supposed to come but ran into major complications at the last minute. We really missed them.

When the buzzer buzzed we went to the podium and the cute girl asked up to wait to the left. We waited and waited and our name wasn't called. So after 2 groups, who were behind me in the line outside to get on the waiting list, were called before us I stopped one of them and asked if they were going to call our name. I explained that we had been there for 10 min after our buzzer went off and hadn't moved from that spot. He went and check and said that they had called us from the other side. The cute girl had gotten mixed up and sent us to the wrong side. They were so apologetic and gave us the BEST seat in the house!!! There is a turret type place huge windows with booths and the windows over look the mountains. We sat there!!! It was awesome and so totally perfect.

The food was just as wonderful as ever and you would have NEVER known this was the first day! I can't wait to go again and again and .....
This was Joe's first time. He loved it of course.

The best part of all is G-ma Eames lives 3 minutes away so we have a FREE sitter when ever we want to go!!! Woo Hoo!!

Crazy Ryan

A few days ago we left to run some errands. I opened the garage to leave and Ryan did this...
(this video is a re-creation)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

img_title
We had a great Halloween! We spent the morning at the school parade.

Then off to WM to get last minute things and a bit of trick or treating. Then back to the house to carve pumpkins (yah last min I know...) But they turned out AWESOME!!!

I decided this year to have an open house every year. We had hot chocolate, hot apple cider and donuts. It was way fun and gave moms and dads a time to rest and, toward the end of the evening, get warm. I got 16 dz donuts and went through more then half. Not bad for a first year! I am sure more people will come next year. I got nothing but compliments. I'm so glad it turned out!

I was so proud of my decorations too! All the kids thought it was spooky.
